“California offers seemingly endless holiday opportunities,” said Visit California President & CEO Caroline Beteta. “From exploring the state’s iconic attractions and gateway cities, to venturing off the beaten path to discover our many hidden gems – the 2019 California International Visitor’s Guide is a great resource to find the perfect itinerary for you.”
Inside the guide:
The magazine opens with an introduction to California’s four primary gateways: San Francisco, Los Angeles, Orange County and San Diego. Readers will learn about the key features of each urban centre, including a variety of insider tips and recommendations for enjoying some of the most popular attractions.
Encouraging travellers to go beyond the gateways, a “4 Amazing Road Trips” feature provides car-friendly itineraries that deliver scenic beauty, hidden gems and plenty of family fun. A two-page map includes key driving distances and helps road trippers map out their adventures.
The International Visitor’s Guide includes a collection of articles organised around traveller interests. These include an introduction to national and state parks; a guide to California’s many beautiful beaches; tips on visiting iconic theme parks; suggestions for exploring vineyards and craft breweries; a culinary guide to the Golden State; and more.
The publication also features an events guide that highlights some of the big-ticket festivals and happenings across California — designed to help international travellers time their trip. The “Travel Basics” section is tailored for first-time visitors, providing information and links regarding passports and visas; getting around; weather; money and tipping; smoking rules; and public holidays.
The 2019-20 International Visitor’s Guide, which is free to consumers, is translated into nine languages and is available in 15 international versions. Get yours at VisitCalifornia.com.au
