Every May, pro cyclists compete in a seven-stage, Tour de France–style road race that stretches over more than 600 miles of prime California real estate from the coastline to the High Sierra. A trail of host cities — such as Long Beach, San Jose, Sacramento and South Lake Tahoe — link the race and feature the daily Lifestyle Festival Expo adjacent to the finish line. The Amgen Tour of California also includes a 150-mile, three-stage women’s race as part of the action.
